As we walk our own life journey, and particularly if it is a spiritual one, we begin to see life from a different perspective.
To clarify that: we have raised our vibration higher than it was and now we see life from that higher frequency. Imagine you are on a ladder and you were on the second rung and could look out and see life from that position, but now you have climbed higher and are on the tenth rung. Your perspective, what you can see from there is greater, just as your understandings of things you could see from the second rung are now greater from the tenth rung.
The problem arises when we are so insular that we do not take the time to consider that everyone is on some kind of life journey. No one, NO ONE is the same as they were a year ago or perhaps even a few months ago. They too have changed. And yet you are expecting them to behave the same as they used to.
Or you are expecting them to behave better because you understand life better.
People do change. They do not need to be on a spiritual journey in order to change. Life just continuously offers people the opportunity to change.
When we expect a person to be as they have been in the past and expect their behavior to be the same we are, in effect, expecting them to jump through our hoops. And those expectations lead to disappointments.
Allow yourself to accept that all people change and let them express to you who they are in this day, this hour, or even in this moment. Allow them that. If you have a reaction to something they say, an annoyance, then it is nothing to do with the other person, and only has to do with you. Why are you annoyed? What is it within you that is asking to be looked at? And why are you expecting them to behave in a certain way? Why should they? Honestly … why should they behave in a way that suits you?
Every circumstance in life offers us an opportunity to grow with ourself, to understand ourself and know ourself more and more and more.
The more I understand myself, the more I look at a reaction to comprehend it, the more peace enters my life, the more calm I feel within myself.
On quiet days at home with my dog and two cats, we have time to just hang out together. I attune to where they are at, and the four of us genuinely appreciate that we can all be together. I do not take this gift lightly. I ensure I make time for this gift for us all. I talk to my houseplants, and offer them both gratitude and appreciation. The more attuned I am to life, the more the guidance is just there … as if I have reached the level where that information and knowing becomes clear. Simple clarity. No bells and whistles and trumpets, just moments of simple clarity and understanding.
Any time something in life annoys you, embrace it! Give it a big hug, and say “Thank you! What are you here to teach me?” and delve deep into what you are feeling and why. It is generally the:
‘Because.’
‘Yeah but why?’
‘Because.’
‘Yeah, but why?’
Conversation until you get down to the tiny seed of truth. And with that comes the understanding.
So long as something annoys you, you will continue to attract it. That which you resist, will persist. Universal truth.
Let go of the bonds you have placed on relationships and friendships and let them grow, let them blossom, and let yourself see how it has changed and evolved. Bonds are like chains, they restrict any growth. So let them go. Let yourself accept the other person as they are, and allow yourself to be who you are. There is nothing more beautiful that people who are comfortable with who they are and allow each others growth and blossoming.
Focus on what you desire to achieve in your life, and make time for that. Don’t put your own goals on the bottom of the priority list. Personally I have changed my time schedule so that I make sure I have an allotted time to write, to settle in and focus, to lose myself in the words. I factor in that time when my mind is more free and uncluttered, I do not save it for the left over dregs of time at the end of the day when I know I am too tired.
